WOO HOO!

I got a bonus! I was not expecting to get one considering sales and revenue are down. However, MY team met our goals so I got 50% of the normal bonus.

I guess that makes me evil in liberals eyes.

.........not that I care what liberals actually think.

In other news, I am taking my daughter to a Father/Daughter dance on April 23rd. That will be very cool.

Congratulations on your bonus.

You know, liberals (and I'm sure you consider me one) don't knock bonuses when they are earned. We just question the legitimacy of corporations that issue bonuses to executives that A, downsize, B, move jobs overseas, and C, plunder the corporation into bankruptcy and chaos.

Giving a bonus to a CEO of a failing business is the same kind of stupidity as my former boss who insisted on keeping his stupid alcoholic son in law employed with the company.

But that's not what this post is about. This is about your well-deserved bonus for working hard in tough times.... congratulations Doc. Treat yourself to something nice, you earned it.

Thanks, Steve. Unfortunately what I will have to do with it is either pay taxes or pay down debt. But, doing that will save a couple hundred a month and allow me to get back into a 2 bedroom apartment. Then my kids will have their own bedroom again.
If your talking about AIG, those bonuses were contractually obligated. Just like my bonus, those AIG managers and execs may have met some goals thereby initiating a bonus payout.

Anyway, thanks, Steve.

Congrats on your bonus :D

As for AIG, I say those bonus contracts stopped being worth the paper they were written on when the company decided to take taxpayer money to fund the people who FAILED THE BUSINESS. Whatever "some goals" they achieved, on the whole, they failed big time.

Congrats!
I'm looking forward to earning bonuses again.

Either the bailout money will go to pay bonuses, or it will go toward legal fees as these execs and managers sue AIG for contractual bonuses.

I hope you don't have to use the bonus for taxes, Sweetheart. I know you will have fun at the dance with C. :-)

Good to see you posting. And Congratulations on the bonus! I know that will help out. I got one at the end of the year & a raise. Neither was guaranteed but our business is good and I feel no need to apologize for it. So I don't.
Aww...you and C at a father-daughter dance. That's so sweet!

Hell, I'd rather they set fire to the damn money that let those crooked AIG spivs get a single cent of it.

The federal government is also paying money to keep AIG's logo on God-forsaken Manchester United's jerseys (grumblegrumblefuckersGO CITY!grumble).

And they are contractually obligated, but these contracts are written for fear that the execs will go elsewhere. It amazes me their contracts never include clauses that say "the company must be in the black for you to earn the bonus".

You'd think that would be kind of fundemental really, wouldn't you?

Did I hear that the executives in question have now all resigned anyway?
